Patrick Robinson
Data Scientist (Cross-Product)Patrick is one of Validere’s Data Scientists. Since near the Analytic team’s infancy, he has helped build data modelling and tools to provide unique insight and value for client use cases.
Patrick holds a PhD in mathematics, and his background as a mathematician allows him to approach incredibly technical problems with a honed analytical eye. His undergrad in the physics applications of mathematics also gives him a solid foundation for tackling data and modelling problems in the oil & gas industry.
With years of data science experience spanning oil & gas with Validere, financial algorithmic trade modelling, and data science curriculum development, Patrick is able to come up with novel approaches to client issues. And with over 10 years experience as a post-secondary educator in mathematics at the University of Toronto, he is equally at home constructing technical solutions, and explaining complicated topics in an understandable manner in team/client meetings.
In Patrick’s spare time, he enjoys cooking, experimenting with new cocktail creation, and preparing/playing tabletop games with his friends.
