Houston methane workshop: U.S. LNG's role in a decarbonizing world
Validere Workshop
Date: Wednesday, May 17, 2023
Time: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Workshop | 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Lunch
Location: Validere Houston Office – Energy Tower One
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in early 2022 roiled global gas markets, with European gas consumers needing to immediately reshuffle their energy mix. Global gas and LNG prices skyrocketed, and consumers rushed to backstop new U.S. LNG projects. But now, a mild winter has eased the crisis and environmental concerns are coming back into focus.
Validere’s Jen Snyder, Erin Tullos, and Amber McCullagh will address the role for U.S. LNG in a decarbonizing world, including:
- How global LNG buyers are pushing U.S. upstream and midstream operators to manage emissions, especially methane
- How different measurement technologies and voluntary programs can help U.S. producers demonstrate their emissions credentials
- How the interconnected U.S. gas value chain adds complexity in quantifying lifecycle emissions
