Denver methane workshop: the role of U.S. natural gas in a decarbonizing world
Validere Workshop
Date: Thursday May 11, 2023Schedule: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Workshop | 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Lunch
Location: The Oxford Hotel, Denver
Demand for U.S. gas continues to rise, and although LNG projects typically grab the headlines, gas demand continues to grow alongside renewable energy in domestic power generation, and as a feedstock for clean hydrogen and ammonia. But both domestic and global buyers have decarbonization goals of their own, and U.S. E&Ps who can measure and quantify their environmental credentials look likely to emerge as winners.
Validere’s Jen Snyder, Erin Tullos, and Amber McCullagh will address the role for U.S. gas in a decarbonizing world, including:
- How buyers are pushing U.S. upstream and midstream operators to manage emissions, especially methane
- How different measurement technologies and voluntary programs can help U.S. producers demonstrate their emissions credentials
- How the interconnected U.S. gas value chain adds complexity in quantifying lifecycle emissions
